Track Construction to Begin
Our contractor is set to break ground on the new concrete track this month! This is a long time coming, and I can't wait to see the finished product later this summer. If you purchased a paver, those will also be installed this summer along with the track. There will be additional opportunities to purchase pavers in the fall so that you too can make leave your mark at Pin Oak.
The athletic fields will be closed once the construction begins around May 14, 2018.

Each year we ask for your feedback on how we are doing at Pin Oak. Please take time to complete the parent survey. Students will be completing a survey at school.

Summer Reading List is Now Available!
Summer Reading Lists will be distributed this week during ELA classes for current 6th and 7th graders! Students will have two choices for the whole school read and will be able to choose a second book from the Choice List. We have a great list this year!
Barnes & Noble Partners Up With Pin Oak!
The summer book fair at Barnes and Noble will run from May 14-18! You can purchase summer reading books from Barnes and Noble (online or in the store) and part of your purchase goes back to Pin Oak!
Join us on May 16th during the Barnes and Noble Book Fair for Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A! Make it dinner and shopping in the neighborhood- Buffalo Speedway & Holcombe!

Did you preorder a yearbook? Pick it up from Ms. Beckman between classes or during Team Time.
Still need to buy your yearbook? Bring $50 cash (no checks) to Ms. Beckman in A109. Hurry! Quantities are limited. We will sell out!
Avenue B
Neighbors are starting to complain again about traffic and illegal parking on Avenue B. This is not a designated drop off or pick up location. The City of Bellaire will ticket vehicles using Avenue B. Please use one of the two designated drop off and pick up locations.

online preorders can conveniently be picked up during Charger Camp days on
August 21 & 22.
The
Pin Oak Store (located the the right of the cafeteria) is also open everyday
from 7:30 am - 8:00 am & 11:40-2:00 pm before May 18, at which point it
will be closed for inventory and restocking for the 2018/2019 school
year.
The
Pin Oak Store will also be open to all incoming 6th grade parents on Tuesday,
May 29 from 3:00-7:00 pm.
Bellaire High School Virtual Summer School Orientation
There will be an additional Orientation for Virtual Summer
School on Wednesday, May 16th at 4:30 P.M. in the Bellaire High
School library. This is for students who have registered for any of the
virtual summer school courses (Original Credit Health or PE or Credit Recovery Courses) and may wish to begin
early. E-mail Mr. David Thornhill at dthornhi@houstonisd.org if you have
any questions.
NJHS Ice Cream Social
The NJHS Ice Cream Social is Wednesday, May 9th
at 3:30pm in the cafeteria. NJHS members will need to bring their
completed Service Hours form indicating at least 20 hours of documented
community service for the school year, which will serve as their entrance
ticket. We expect all members to be picked up in the back of the school
no later than 4:15pm.
