8th grade Student Leadership Announce...

*This will take place for 8th graders, during 8th grade lunch.  Food trucks will be set up near the amphitheatre and students who participate will be required to stay in that area during the entire lunch period. 

High School Credit Course Parent Information Meeting

Pin Oak offers a number of courses that qualify for High School credit.  There are advantages to taking advances course work, but there are also some significant things to consider. We invite you to join us Thursday night to learn more about coursework your child may be eligible to take while at Pin Oak. We will discuss our process for making placement decisions and discuss the potential impacts to the high school transcript and college admission.  We will meet in the MPR at 6:00 p.m.

Yearbooks Almost Sold Out!

We have only 1 yearbook for every 8 students who haven't purchased one!  Remember to bring your $50 cash (no checks) to Ms. Beckkan in room A109 ASAP to secure your cpy before they are all gone!

Summer School Counselor Approval Form

If your current 8th grader is planning to attend Bellaire High School in the fall and is interested in taking original credit summer school this summer, they will need a signed Counselor Approval form.  You may pick one up from the Main Office or one was attached to the email blast announcing this blog post.  One additional orientation will be held on June 5th.  Check the Bellaire High School website for more information.

Science Camps at Pin Oak This Summer

Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Clayton, Science Teachers at Bellaire HS, are offering two new STEM rich science camps for ages 10 and up at Pin Oak Middle this summer. The two current BHS teachers have over 15 years museum and informal science/field educator experiences each in addition to their traditional classroom experience (20+ each). Mrs. Baker came to BHS from NASA's Space Center Houston where she was the Education Specialist for the center.  One camp is Rocket Science, the other is Vet Med Science.  No prior science knowledge or skill is required.  We are trying to get kids excited and engaged in science.
